Damavand: Located 50 Km to the east of Tehran, Damavand (5610 meters) is the highest peak in Iran. It’s a semi-dormant volcano. It takes 4-6 days to climb it.

Alam Kouh: As the second highest peak (4850 meters) in Iran, it is located on the border of two different climates (Semi-arid and humid). It takes 2-3 days to climb it.

Alamut Valley: Having spectacular landscapes, Alamut Valley was the home to Assassins. There are still the castles of Assassins in this region. The most important castle in this region is called Hassan Sabah Castle.

Hyrcanian Forests:  Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Hyrcanian forests are the survivors of the last Ice Age. These forests are very rich in terms of natural phenomena and wildlife. There are many lakes, waterfalls, and rivers in these forests.

Rural areas: If you are looking for a unique experience in rural areas, there are many beautiful villages to welcome you. Masuleh is the most famous village in this region with very special architecture. Javaherdeh is another village that means “the village of treasure”.

  1. North West of Iran:

This region includes Ardebil, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, and Kurdistan provinces. This region has remarkable diversity in everything. It’s very rich in history, diverse in ethnic groups, and notable.

Sabalan peak: As the third highest (4811 meters) peak in Iran, Sabalan is located in Ardebil province. When you reach the peak, you will face a breathtaking view. There is a lake, as big as the football pitch on the summit.

Natural attractions: There are a few natural sites that you shouldn’t miss in this region. SPA Resorts in Sarien and its healing feature is a must-see place. If you like to drive through a spectacular road, try Heyran Road which connects Astara to Ardebil. There are a few famous lakes in this region such as Neor, Marmisho, and Zarivar. But the most famous one is Lake Urmia which is known as the second saltiest water in the world after the Dead Sea in Jordan.

Historical attractions: We have four UNESCO World Heritage sites in this region. Sheikh Safi Al-din mausoleum with its gilded interior design is located in Ardebil. Takht-e Soleiman was the most important religious center in the Sassanid period. Tabriz Grand Bazaar the largest covered bazaar in the world is a place to wonder and communicate with local people. Additionally, you can visit Kandovan which is a rock-hewn village in the skirt of Sahand Mount.

  1. The western part of Iran:

This region contains Hamedan and Zanjan provinces. This region is a great mix of nature and history. Hamedan was the first capital of Persia with a history that dates back to 1200 BC. In addition to its historical aspects, the natural features are very remarkable. Alisadr is the biggest water cave in the world which is worth visiting. For the lovers of light climbing, Alvand is the best option.
