We will take an early morning flight to Ahvaz. Our first stop will be the Karoon River, Iran’s only navigable river, known for its high water flow and stretching 950 km (590 mi).

Next, we’ll head to the ancient city of Susa. After exploring Susa, we will visit the magnificent Chogha Zanbil Temple, a 3,200-year-old Elamite ziggurat. This well-preserved site, uncovered during archaeological excavations from 1951 to 1962, was the first Iranian location to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.

Our journey continues to Shoushtar, famous for its waterfalls, mills, and the oldest water reservoir system in Persia. Here, we will visit the Historical Hydraulic System (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and a traditional house. We’ll also enjoy lunch at the Mostofi Museum, which dates back to the Qajar dynasty.

Day 4

NOMAD'S TENTS IN ZAGROS MOUNTAINS

In the morning, we’ll witness the breathtaking sight of the flock wandering through the green pastures. This is a significant day for the nomads as it marks the start of their migration.

For several days, we’ll join them in their epic journey through the Zagros Mountains. Depending on the nomad family and the difficulty of their migration route, we’ll hike between 40-80 km. Following the flock, we’ll be immersed in the stunning landscape, surrounded by towering mountains and oak trees, with the sound of sheep bells ringing in our ears.

In the afternoons, when the nomads pause, we’ll have plenty of quiet time to take in the spectacular surroundings. At night, we’ll rest under the cool, starry sky or in our tents, creating unforgettable memories.

Next, we’ll visit the historic stepped village of Sar Agha Seyed, known for its unique architecture where the yard of one house is the roof of another. For thousands of years, nomads have passed through this village on their way to seasonal pastures. We’ll also take a short 15-minute hike to visit the nearby salt mines. Tonight, we’ll stay in a nomadic village, soaking in the serene atmosphere.

The wealthy city of Esfahan was one of the world’s greatest cities during the Safavid time in the 17th century.

The fame of Esfahan led to the Persian pun and proverb “Esfahan nesf-e- jahan ast.” Esfahan is half the world. It is the pearl of traditional Persian archaeology. There are many contemporary artists who work in Esfahan.

Your tour includes the famed Royal Square (Naqsh-e-Jahan), which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the second-largest square in the world. We will visit the architectural marvels of Sheikh Lotfollah and Imam Mosques, Aliqapu Palace and Chehel Sutoon Palace.
